Peter's 5th Month

The other week as I was getting ready for church, I happened to walk through the living room, and I saw this beautiful sight, so I had to stop and take a picture.  Aaron was teaching the Priesthood lesson, and he was prepping for it, and Peter was just hanging out.  Peter has a great example in his Daddy.

This was the other day when Peter was fussy (probably tired).

Like Father like Son!

This is a normal occurence in our house. Notice that this is INSIDE the house.  Ginny always tries to make a run for it and come inside when the door opens. Sometimes she is too fast for me.

Peter, Mommy, and Carol Ann.

This is Peter's face every time I try to give him a pacifier. He then promptly spits it out.

I had just gone to the fridge to get some dinner. I had Peter in one hand, a plate in the other, and I held a bag of cheese in my mouth. Peter put the cheese in his mouth too. This little man watches and copies. I need to be a good example before he picks up any of my less than lovely habits smile emoticon Never too early to start being a good example! (5 months old yesterday).

Peter HATES tummy time. I mean, he hates it with a passion.  He will scream and scream the whole 15 minutes. I am one to just let him scream if he is going to scream. Aaron on the other hand will lay on the floor beside him so Peter knows he is not alone.  Peter will usually keep screaming regardless of whether or not Aaron is there, but it still shows what a good daddy he has.

We started a garden. My first real garden ever. I remember helping my mom a little when I was 12 or so with her garden...but I don't remember that.  We started lots of seeds in this mini greenhouse Aaron and I made.  We used egg cartons to start the seeds.  We have TONS of tomatoes.  My dream is to have enough tomatoes to can salsa and spaghetti sauce for the whole next year.  Lets hope it works! This photo was taken maybe a month or two ago, so now the seedlings have been re-potted and thinned out.

Dad and Peter mowing the lawn. This lawn can get crazy and out of control in just a few days if we don't mow it often.

The kitties love to sleep by Peter.  They are surprisingly SO GOOD with him! He loves to "pet" them- and what that means in infant terms is that he will reach out, grab them, and come back with a handful of fur- and they let him.  They are gentle and cuddle up by him, but have never hurt him in any way.

Dad has successfully mastered teaching Peter how to eat his feet.

He did that once before with Robert too.  You can tell these boys are brothers :)

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures because it says so much.  Aaron left for school at 4:30pm the afternoon before (the reason for the backpack).  He then had class till 8pm, then he worked from 9pm to 6am, and this is at 7am after he got home...and the first thing he does after greeting me is make a bee-line for Peter.  He works HARD for us.

We are doing a thing called Baby-Led Weaning.  Basically what it means is that you skip baby food, and just let the baby eat what you eat.  When they reach for something and put it in their mouth, let them chew on it and figure it out.  Peter has gotten to the point where he will cry and fuss if we try to eat and not give him any too.  He will be 6 months old in a week!
