Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, or Do without!

I think we started really living the principle
"Use it up
Wear it out
Make it do
Or do without"
when we moved to Missouri and moved onto this farm. It was quite the lifestyle change.  By moving here I took a 30% paycut (Missouri doesn't love nurses)...and then I became a Stay-at-Home Mom which means I took a 100% paycut (but TOTALLY worth it).

Little Pedro was needing a white button up Sunday Shirt.  Those things are first of all hard to find in stores, and second of all more expensive than typical baby clothes. That is when Aaron got the bright idea to make the shirt. He left for work one day and told me to look through his Sunday shirts and to find one that had a bad collar that he couldn't wear anymore, and instead of throwing it away, I could make a shirt for Peter out of it.  I told him I was unsure about picking out a shirt to cut up, and he told me it would be fine and I could easily tell...and away he went to work.

Then Aaron comes home from work, and he loves Peter's new Sunday Shirt and especially his BYU tie that I made from leftover fabric from Aaron's Christmas present.  Then he looked at the leftover white shirt, the one from which I had made Peter's shirt.  He just starts laughing and said that was one of the few Sunday shirts that was good that he still wore!
OOOPS!!!
I learned a valuable lesson.  There is a difference between a dirty collar and a threadbare collar.  I thought this was his worst shirt because the collar was dirty...not because it was old and ruined. :)
Oh well!

On a happier note, I also made our Christmas stockings from shirts.  I used my old scrubs from nursing that I wont be using anymore.
