My Dad came to visit!!!!
It all started a few weeks ago when my sister came to visit, and Peter was not thrilled to have a stranger hold him (aka my sister). She called my dad and told him that Peter has stranger anxiety and would probably scream and scream the next time he saw my dad.
Dad did NOT like that idea, so he bought a ticket right away so he could spend time with Peter from the time he was itty bitty, so Peter would grow up knowing him. Peter met them when he was one month old too.
When we picked Grandpa up at the airport, I was holding Peter in the wrap carrier, and everyone was commenting on what a happy baby I had. Then Grandpa walked up, and Peter's eyes became the size of footballs looking at this HUGE man! He is 6'5.
It was love at first sight. Peter was happy from the moment he met Grandpa until he left. He never cried out of fear or stranger anxiety. Grandpa also had a toy that he let Peter play with- glasses. We figured this out on day two, so I am not going to blame Peter's infatuation on Grandpa just because he had glasses. Peter already liked him before the glasses, but the glasses sealed the deal. If ever Peter started to get fussy or agitated, Grandpa would just hand him glasses and Peter would play with them and chew.
You see, Peter is teething. It's barely visible, but it is there. He has one tooth in, and is working on number two.
Peter would play with the glasses until he fell asleep, and he had a death grip on them :)
One night I was making dinner, and Aaron was getting ready for bed ( he has to go to sleep super early with his new work schedule) and Peter was screaming. Grandpa held and rocked him for at least 30 minutes while he screamed and screeched...and then he fell asleep.
That took a TON of patience. Anyone who knows my kid, knows he has some lungs on him!
And here he goes again with the glasses.
Saying goodbye to Grandpa. It was a quick three day visit, but it was a great one!
3 Generations!
